Concealing a Zit : How To

Do you ever become so frustrated when trying to gently, oh so gently cover that horrendous blemish up on your face, which you have become certain is the first thing everyone is zeroing in on when they look at your face, that you just want to scream?

Well, I hear you, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s really tough to convincingly conceal a zit – especially a big one that about to take over your entire face – with concealer.  I prefer to use a concealer stick, but some people may still want to use a liquid concealer.  Both will do the trick, I just feel that using a stick style concealer gives me more control over how I cover the zit up.

Take the stick or the liquid, and put the tiniest amount of it on your forefinger.  Then, making sure the zit is free of debris like dried flaking skin and any other nasty fluids that we all know tend to leak from an infected acne postule, gently pat the concealer that is on your finger onto the top of the zit.

It’s important that you do not just rub the concealer in.  It needs to just gently be “set on top of” the acne pustule so that it will not further redden the zit and make it look worse – or worse yet, so it does not rupture the pimple.

After you’ve dabbed the concealer on the pimple, then you take you forefinger and gently pat the concealer until it blends.  Keep doing this until you have a good covering.  And for God’s sake, don’t rub too hard – not only will you lose the concealing abilities of the makeup, you will only irritate the pimple further and make it look worse.

Oh yeah, my cousin taught me how to apply concealer to zits and told me what acne products worked best – she gave me my own private advice and acne product reviews since she also had acne really bad!
