Lemon and Lime Juice for Your Skin
I’ve written a couple of previous posts on how drinking freshly squeezed lemon juice in your water may be helpful to clear up and refresh your skin. Well, apparently there is a reason behind that, and it has to do with the ph balance in your body. You see, we all have an ideal ph, or acid vs. alkaline balance in our bodies, and for the most part, most of America’s systems are way to far over on the acidic side.Â
This means we consume a high acid diet, meaning red meats and lots of wheats and grains, which our systems actually convert into acids. This can affect our skin’s clarity and tone. Lemon juice is a citric acid, which , counter to our intuition, actually helps to deactivate acids, even though most of us would actually consider lemon juice itself to BE an acid. So, just another reason to drink lemon juice in your water. It really does make your water more refreshing too.Â
Oh, lime juice will also work. And one word of caution that my dad told me : don’t drink lemon or lime water before bed, as it can wear away your tooth enamle. I’d stop drinking it in my water at least a few hours before I hit the hay.

hi, just wondering how lime juice work in the skin or what it does do for oily skin like mine. and when i apply lime juice on my face, do i need to lie down to make the juice penetrate deeper in my skin? and how much should i use? tha
Hi – Hmm, I’m not sure of lime juice being used for anything except dry skin, but I have read the diluted fresh lemon juice can help with oily skin when it is rinsed on the face for a slightly extended rinsing time. I hope this helps a little! I did read one thin on lime juice, but that was a mask for dry skin, and I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for.

Hi there, maybe this will help a lil with LIME.
i dont really know wat yall are looking 4…hope this helps
im curently trying da lemon, maybe da lime. idk
Lime. Like lemon, lime belongs to the citrus family and as such, is a valuable resource of citric acid. To use lime in treating acne, consider the following suggestions:
. An equal amount of groundnut oil and fresh lime juice can be mixed and applied directly on affected areas. Leave for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off.
. Combine roasted and powdered pomegranate and fresh lime juice. Dab the resulting mixture over acne.
. Lime juice and rose water in equal proportions can be applied directly on affected areas. Leave on for 20 to 30 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water.
Orange. Orange also belongs to the citrus family and exhibits very much the same effects as those of lemon and lime in treating acne. In using orange for the purpose, make a paste out of ground orange peel and water and apply on affected parts.
