Yoga and My Skin

December 8, 2006

Tweet Since I’ve been regularly practicing Yoga every weekend as my sort of “break” from a rigorous gym workout on the cardio machines, I’ve noticed my skin seems to be agreeing with me more.  I know it may sound kind of far fetched, but I really do believe that when we achieve an inner equilibrium, an inner peace and calm, our skin tends to “calm” down as well, meaning less acne, redness, inflammation etc.  This actually makes sense if you think about it, because stress in and of itself can cause many people’s faces to erupt with acne lesions,...

Microdermabrasion and Acne : My Experience

December 7, 2006

Tweet This is an article I wrote which will soon be distributed to read in other popular publications, about my experience with microdermabrasion and how it affected my acne scarring, as well as other areas of my skin I wanted to target.  Notice how I do recommend that if you don’t want to have to continue this pricey treatment there are excellent home microderm systems for acne scars also, that may need to be used more often, but can also produce great scar reduction.  Read on: Microdermabrasion is a popular skin treatment performed in thousands of skin care spas...

Antioxidants and Acne

December 4, 2006

Tweet We’ve talked before about antioxidants and how they can help a person with acne get clearer skin, but they can also help a person with acne scarring and pitting to speed along the healing and recovery of their skin as well.  How do antioxidants help everyone’s skin, including acne sufferers?  Well, antioxidants are a powerful weapon against one of our skin’s worst enemies, the free radical.  Free radicals are created by environmental toxins, the foods we eat, UV sunlight rays (one of the worst offenders) and a bevy of other bad environmental factors too numerous to name.  What...

Acne and a Sauna

December 2, 2006
By

Tweet I just wrote about the benefits a sauna can have if you have acne.  You see, at my gym, they have a sauna.  Hardly anyone uses it, but I just happened to turn on the timer before my workout one day so the sauna would be nice and toasty for me for a little post workout relaxation and muscle heating and stretching.  My first time in the sauna I noticed that my skin felt really great, almost as if I could “feel” my pores opening in the intense heat and drinking in the steam from the lava rocks,...
