Youtube Video for Acne Makeup Application Ultra Popular

December 7, 2011
By

Tweet A regular teen, who happens to have beautiful facial features – and oh by the way also has multiple acne scars – has become famous very quickly – at least internet famous.  The inventive teen filmed herself while expertly applying makeup that makes her look as if she has perfect skin. It is quite a transformation when you see the before and after picture of the teen, named Cassandra Bankson, who is just nineteen years old.  I must applaud this brave young woman for having the nerve to put this video up and helping so many other people...

Nodular Acne : What is It?

October 2, 2011
By

Tweet It is important to understand the different forms of acne on the surface of the skin. The various types of acne include noninflammatory whiteheads and blackheads, and inflammatory papule, pastules and nodulars. Nodular acne or cystic acne is generally painful swollen pus-filled lesions that grow deep within the skin. Nodular acne develops once the contents of the comedo has spilled into the adjoining pores and skin which the immune system then creates pus when taking action. Be sure to not pop nodular acne as you would to a whitehead or blackhead, this will only prolong the treating stage....

Acne Smartphone Apps a Fraud?

September 19, 2011
By

Tweet Well, I must say, people will think of anything to make a buck off of ideas, and pretty stupid ones at that, sometimes. Apparently there have been some savvy computer people who are good at building apps who have been selling “acne curing” apps to smartphone customers that really have no scientific basis. I’m all for alternative methods of curing or treating acne, but this one does sound downright ludicrous if I may say, because there is no way that this can work. The apps are anywhere from ninety nine cents to a dollar and ninety nine cents...

When You Feel Like You’re Going to Jump Out of Your Skin….

September 7, 2011
By

Tweet I just had to write this, because I was having a day exactly like this earlier. I’m better now. But a few hours ago, I literally wanted to crawl out of my own skin because of the angst and pressure I was feeling over the multitude of things that are going on in my life right now. They are both good and bad, but they all are causing some severe anxiety in me now. It occurred to me that during these times, I can feel my body chemistry change. Sometimes, I can even “feel” where a zit is...

Maker of Accutane Stopped Selling It in 2009

June 26, 2011
By

Tweet I didn’t know this, and I’m shocked that I just learned it to be quite frank. It must not have been very well publicized in the general media, probably because there are still so many generic versions available, which are basically the same thing. Roche, the Swiss drug company that developed and initially sold Accutane, the blockbuster acne drug that came with a ton of controversey because of its severe side effects and safety issues, has stopped selling the drug. They actually stopped selling the drug, most likely due to the high cost of lawsuits associated with the...

Coffee May Not Only Cause Acne, but Auditory Hallucinations!

June 17, 2011
By

Tweet Yep, that’s right. I thought this was just an interesting tidbit about coffee, which as you know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I have long suspected as causing acne breakouts in myself and many others, especially with over consumption. Caffeine and stimulants actually are all in the same “evil” family when it comes to causing or aggravation acne breakouts, because too many stimulants actually cause hormonal disruptions. Those of us with acne can use all the hormonal stability we can get, so when something stimulates the central nervous system, and disrupts androgen (male) and estrogen...

Vacation Neck Zit – Great!

April 30, 2011
By

Tweet So I’m on a very short weekend getaway. Actually, I’m just tagging along with my husband to Pittsburgh for a convention he’s attending. So, I’m enjoying spending a little money shopping here for clothes, and enjoying not paying the taxes on the clothes that I normally am subjected to in my home state of Ohio (PA taxes food but they don’t tax clothing, opposite of Ohio). I’m really enjoying myself, except I had an unexpected visitor that showed up for no reason at all. The rest of my skin on my body is very calm – no hormonal...

Still Suffering St. Patrick’s Hangover?

March 19, 2011
By

Tweet Many of you may have gone out and enjoyed a few drinks (or more) on the statistically biggest drinking day here in the US, except for maybe New Years Eve.  I myself, even though I thought I was past the age where I would go out for St. Patty’s day, went out. Boy, I’m still suffering from it too!  I ate bad food (tasted great, but not skin-friendly, but then again, neither is drinking since it dehydrates you and breaks down into skin-ruining sugars in your body), and I drank quite a few strong cocktails. I’m recovering now,...
