Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Toner

September 17, 2009
By

Tweet Did you ever pick up a great acne or general skin care product when you were least expecting it that turned out to be a really good buy? Well, that’s what happened to me. If you’ve ever tried any of the Body Shop line of body and skin care products, and now their new makeup line (which I think happens to be pretty fantastic too, I’m a huge makeup fan, and have a large collection of it – probably too large!), you know that they have a pretty high quality line. Well, I just had returned from visiting...

Using Sulfur to Treat Acne

September 11, 2009
By

Tweet One of the treatments that you may not have heard of to treat acne topically is something that is rather stinky actually.  It’s the smell that you inhale when you smell hard boiled eggs that have just been cracked open – sort of, but it’s also the reason behind that smell you inhale when you strike a match for an instant.  It’s called sulfur, and it’s actually been found to be quite an effective tool against acne for some who use it topically incorporated with cleansers and the like. Sulfur actually dates back for many many years as...

Difference Between Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide

September 5, 2009
By

Tweet A lot of people probably don’t know that there is actually a different purpose for the two most popular over the counter acne fighting ingredients in topical acne skin care treatments, benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. I know that I didn’t really know there was a difference until I did some research to find out which one was better.  Turns out the one that works better for my particular skin type and specific issues is salicylic acid. I also like this particular ingredient because it tends to not dry me out as much as benzoyl, but that definitely...

Review : Phisoderm Anti Blemish Face Wash

May 14, 2009
By

Tweet I figured I’d try a pHisoderm product for my skin since I literally have not used this brand since I was a teenager. I remember thinking their products were halfway decent, but I always preferred wither Purpose soap or Neutrogena, because they made me feel like I was getting my skin cleaner when I was younger. Yes, for some reason, I felt like my skin had to feel squeaky clean, which is not really a good thing, it usually means you dried your skin too much. I remember thinking that if I used a rich cream cleanser I...

Starlite Laser Skin Rejuvenator Review Coming Up

January 19, 2009
By

Tweet Ok, I finally had to replace my Beurer soft light restorative skin care laser that I really liked because i dropped it and it broke.  I ended up settling on a new one, because of course I had to try something that looked newer and better, ’cause that’s part of my job, to report these things to my dear readers , so I settled on the Starlite soft red light laser for skin rejuvenation. I settled on teh Starlite skin laser because it is advertised as being a better value and more effective than “other leading home lasers”...

Vilantae Review Coming Soon…

January 10, 2009
By

Tweet There will be a new review of a product called Vilantae that I’ve been researching and reading about for a few days now that piqued my interest when I happened to hear about it when reading something that was not really purposefully related to the treatment of acne.  It’s supposedly a product that helps to shrink the skin’s pores and reduce the amount of sebum that is produced after a person takes it for so long, but they also offer topical products that sound interesting.  Since we review all kinds of acne products here, and I especially love...

Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub Review

August 18, 2008
By

Tweet Wow, that heading was a mouth full!  Neutrogena’s at it again, expanding their acne skin care line to include other enticing products that are named with such catchy and promising product names that we can’t help but throw one of them in our cart on our trips to Wal-Mart or Target, or our local drugstore frequented for OTC acne products. I was a victim of the throw a new acne product in your cart just the other day, with this promisingly titled product by Neutrogena that seems to promis to “scrub” the acne away and the stress caused...

New Acne Free in 3 Days Review

August 11, 2008
By

Tweet I thought it high time I finally get my butt around to reviewing what appears to be a very legit product that is also very effective at using my favorite way to get rid of acne – the natural, holistic way, called Acne Free in 3 Days by Chris Gibson.  It is currently the best selling ebook and hard bound book about acne that is on the market, and that is because word of mouth and good reviews for the product and the system that the author, Chris Gibson teaches, abounds, and that is always a good sign...

Neutrogena’s Creamy Anti Acne Cleanser

March 10, 2008
By

Tweet Well, I think I’ve reviewed this one before, but I’m thinking I like the regular Neutrogena Deep Clean gel cleanser a little better.  True, the creamy acne wash feels a bit better while you’re washing with it, as though it may be a bit more moisturizing to the skin, because it is a creamy cleanser instead of a gel which usually means it’s more emollient (moisturizing), however, it seems that the Deep Clean actually is a little better of a cleanser. For instance, the Deep Clean actually washes my makeup off of my eyes as well, which happens...

Neutrogena Deep Clean a Good Ol’ Stand By

March 1, 2008
By

Tweet Well, you know what my favorites in the world of acne skin care are pretty much already, but there are times when I also purchase products simply to try them out of curiousity, to see what’s out there, and to perpetually test whether I can “do better” than any of the previous products I’ve purchased, many of which reside in a special place in my bathroom because I feel too guilty to toss them in the trash. Neutrogena Deep Clean liquid face wash is a good old stanby though, if you ask me.  For people with acne, this...
